Privacy Policy

Last updated: [07/28 2026]

Slangdec ("we," "us," "this site") is a free tool for translating internet slang into plain English. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site, why, and what choices you have.

Text you type or paste into the decoder

The sentences you enter into the decoder are processed entirely in your browser using a local dictionary file. That text is not sent to, or stored on, any server operated by this site.

Word suggestions you submit

If you suggest a new slang term through the site, we collect the term itself, any note or definition you provide, and โ€” if you choose to give it โ€” a contact email. This information is stored in a database so a human reviewer can approve or reject the suggestion before it's added to the public dictionary. Approved suggestions (the term and its definition) become part of the public dictionary; contact information, if provided, is not published and is used only to follow up about your specific suggestion. You can ask us to delete a suggestion you submitted at any time โ€” see "Your choices" below.

Cookies and advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com, or by visiting aboutads.info to opt out of participating third-party vendors' use of cookies.

Analytics

[If you add an analytics tool such as Google Analytics or Plausible, describe what it collects here before publishing โ€” e.g. page views, approximate location from IP address, browser/device type. Remove this note once filled in.]

Other service providers we use

Some parts of the site rely on third-party infrastructure, each governed by its own privacy policy: Google Fonts (loads typefaces from Google's servers), Google AdSense (advertising), PayPal (donations), and a cloud database service (word-suggestion storage and review). None of these providers are given more information than they need to do their specific job, and we don't sell any information collected through this site.

Donations

If you choose to send a donation via the "Buy the developer a coffee" button, that transaction is handled entirely by PayPal under PayPal's own privacy policy. This site does not receive or store your payment details.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what information we have connected to a word suggestion you submitted, correct it, or delete it, by emailing the address below. We'll respond within a reasonable time. Because the decoder itself doesn't collect or store the text you translate, there's nothing to request there.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
